PaperBox Books uses Smashwords to format e-books for publication and distribution. We format every e-book to meet the specifications for Smashwords premium catalogue which submits our books to the big distributors like Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Sony Reader.
When your story is accepted by PaperBox Books, we do the following:
- Editing to help you polish your work before it is uploaded
- Professional formatting for your work to ensure it displays correctly online
- Professional story summary and author biography for promotion on the distributor websites and other promotional placements and materials
- Distribution through all available channels at the time of signing and additional ones as they are created
- Promotion of your novel via the PaperBox Books Website including: positioning the front page for a month, placement in our online catalogue, author and novel pages and an article in the PaperBox Books blog highlighting your story.
- Mention and link to purchase on the PaperBox Books Facebook fanpage
- Tweeted about from the PaperBox Books Twitter account
- Press releases sent out to book review and promotion sites.
- Create Collateral pieces to aid in the promotion of your work in the form of downloadable bookmarks and posters with the cover art, author bio and how to buy information.
- Guidance for effective ways to create and build your brand as an author and participate in marketing yourself and other authors published through PaperBox Books as outlined in the terms of service.
- Inclusion in additional marketing initiatives we develop as we expand and move forward.

What is a domain and why do you need hosting?
Domain registration is the renting of your website address. In our case paperboxbooks.com. The rental can be renewed either annually or bi-annually. At the end of the term, domain names that are not renewed revert back to the public and can be purchased by anyone. Even if you choose not to keep your website, it's important that you keep your name reserved so others can't use it.
Hosting is buying space to hold your information online so people can access it. Website hosting is normally purchased annually, in a lump sum, or as a monthly payment.
